Business Analyst Role

Business analyst (BA) is the one who act as a liaison/bridge between client,project manager,stakeholders,developer,testers,QA etc in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

A business analyst is one who is involved in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) from the scratch. A business analyst is the one who must have domain knowledge if working in domain based company or must have product knowledge if working in product based company.

Business analyst gathers/elicit the requirement either from client or from stack holders or project managers, document the requirements and help the development team including testers to develop the product as per the clients wish.And sometimes also suggest to client for additional features in their product.

Business analyst must be famalier with the documentations such as BRD (Business Requirement Document) ,FRD(Functional Requirement document) OR FSD(Functional Specification Document),
SRS(Software Requirement Specification) .

Along with the documentation a Business Analyst must have very good communication skills which is required to collaborate with the team so that team can understand the requirement in the easiest possible way.

Apart from the documentation,BA must possess visualization skill . Many visualization tools such as Visio,Draw.io, ArgoUML etc are present to visualize document.

Business analyst should be present on daily scrum meeting or  standby meeting and make a note of daily task of each team member and prepare MOM (Minutes of Meeting) chart, to avoid communication gap.
